Qingdao University 2025 Presidential Scholarship for International Applicants Information Sheet

In order to support development of Degree-seeking International Students in Qingdao University, Qingdao University launches the “Qingdao University Presidential Scholarship” program for providing sponsorship to students, scholars of other countries for pursuing Master & Doctor-degree at QU.

I. Coverage and Criteria

QU Presidential scholarship provides full coverage of tuition fee, on-campus accommodation fee, living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance expenses.

Quotas: 20 for Ph. D-seeking applicants; 10 for master-seeking applicants.

President Scholarship Coverage and Criteria:

1. Tuition fee is under the overall planning and utilization of university to provide teaching and management of scholarship students

2． Accommodation fee is under the overall planning and utilization of university to provide students with on-campus apartments (normally double rooms).

3． Living allowance is granted by host institutions on a monthly basis. The monthly allowance for Doctorate degree seeking students is 3,500 CNY per person. For Master student, the monthly allowance is 3,000 CNY per person.

4． Comprehensive medical insurance is purchased by the university in accordance with relevant regulations of studying in China stipulated by the Ministry of Education of China.

II. Category & Eligibility

1. Application is open to applicant who meet the requirements stipulated in “Qingdao University 2025 Application Information for International Graduate Students”

2. Applicants should own a non-Chinese citizenship, aged between 18 and 40, in good health condition. Applicants for master degree should be aged under 35, for doctor degree should be aged under 40.

3. Each scholarship recipient can be granted with no more than one scholarship.  Scholarship qualification will be cancelled if be found recipient enjoy more than one scholarship.

4. Scholarship support period keep consistent with schooling period given in Admission notice.

III. Application procedure

1. Refer to “Qingdao University 2025 Application Information for International Graduate Students” (see attachment 1) and visit the application system https://admission.qdu.edu.cn/ to finish on-line application

2. After checking the registration information, please upload the proof of paying the registration fee.

3. Please send scanned copy of “proof of registration fee payment” and “APPLICATION FORM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OF Q.U.” (see attachment 2) with signature to shirley@qdu.edu.cn. (mark mail subject as “QUPS application”)

4. Pay attention to your application mail box for information update.

IV. Application Time

The deadline for application is April 20. 2025. Normally, the admission results will be

announced in the end of June. “Letter of Admission”, “Visa Application Form for Foreigners to

Study in China" (JW202 Form) and other relevant documents will be granted to applicants. For

further details on the visa approval process, please check with Chinese Embassy or Consulate.

V. Annual Review

Students studying at school for 1 year or more than 1 year are required to participate in the

Annual Review. The Annual Review mainly focuses on the academic achievements, learning

attitude, attendance, behavior, rewards and punishments, which will be used to conduct a

comprehensive evaluation as next year’s criteria on whether to continue to enjoy the scholarship

or not. When registering in March every year, please go to the International Student Office to

get the Annual Review Form to participate in the annual review. Not participating in the Annual

Review without reason or failing to pass the Annual Review will cause the cancellation of the

scholarship.

VI. Presidential Scholarship Students are required to provide no less than 120 hours’ volunteer work related with international students’ admission & management at school.
